NOW IN STOCK
We now carry New Lucas Alternators 43 amp and Lucas Generators for MGA and MGB
100 Amp Alternator Conversion
This is the perfect upgrade to the weak Lucas electrical system found on most British cars.
One unit fits all. Including but not limited to MG "A" "B" "C" Triumph, Midget etc.
Has built in regulator so integration or conversion is simple.
Whether you have an ACR model or a generator and are serious about dependability this is the way to go.
Please specify when ordering if this is for an MGC. The mounting is slightly different on some alternators.
100 Amp Alternator Upgrade:
1) Charge your battery before you install otherwise you will shorten the life of your new alternator
This is a copy of the CS-130
Note: If you buy your own parts and do the work yourself it may be necessary to rotate the front housing to position the mounting holes in the right place. In addition most parts houses do not stock them with the correct pulley. However, Our alternators are ready to go , have the correct pulley and include the plug.
Wiring:
You will only need to do some simple wiring.
1.) Remove the Lucas plug
2.) Using eyelets (not provided) attach Large and Small Solid Brown wires from the starter along with the Large Red wire (S) on the new plug, to the battery post on the alternator.
3.) Connect the Small Brown (L) on the new plug to the Brown with yellow
(sometimes white) tracer from the wire harness (this is the alternator light on the dash). You can solder, use butt connectors, spade or bullet connectors for this.
4.) The remaining Small Brown wire (F) and Small Gray wire (P) on the new plug can be cut off.
Important Note!
There must be a
working alternator warning light in the circuit. No light! No
Charging!
That's it! Updated 04/19/09
