In all instances have a solid working surface and use brass, plastic or equivalent hammer, or press to accomplish tasks.
1.) Clean all mating surfaces in the pump housing with fine emery.
2.) From the hub side tap the bearing into housing using a 7/8 in socket until flush with housing. Small end out. Oil the id of housing and od of bearing.
3.) Tap or press hub onto small end of bearing until flush with end of shaft. Oil or light grease the od and id. Support the opposite end of bearing shaft. Pay attention to proper hub position.
4.) Turn housing over, from impeller side, tap or press on the seal using a 12 point 5/8 deep socket. ( just compress the spring with out seating the large portion of the seal ) Be careful here! Again oil od of shaft and Id of seal.
5.) Now seat the large portion of the seal with a 1 1/4 socket.
6.) Lastly press or tap on the impeller until it is flush with the bearing end. Oil id of impeller and od of shaft.
