1) Note: Shocks are not permanently mounted on brackets when shipped.
2) Jack up rear of car and support at front of leaf spring.
3) Remove the wheels
4) Remove the Lever Shocks
5) You must: Remove both Lower Shock Brackets and remount them on the opposite sides of the vehicle.( left on the right, and right on the left ) Hole of shock bracket should now be facing down, and to front of the car. To avoid breaking the u-bolts, heat the threads and nuts as hot as you can, then douse with cold water. This expansion and contraction breaks loose any rust.Hint:
6) Install New Upper Mounting brackets using the existing nuts and bolts from the old lever shock on the inside of the frame. Plate can be used in up or down configuration.
7) Install shocks
a. Some shocks have a metal tube through the rubber grommet. Do not remove. Use the long bolts on top and short bolts with washers and nyloc nuts on the bottom.
b. For shocks without the metal tube shorter bolts are on the top and longer bolts with washers and nyloc nuts are on the bottom.
c. (Loc-tite is recommended on the top bolts). .
